Exploitation, Violence and Abuse among Women and Girls with Disabilities

With funding support from Disability Rights Fund, DIWA Malawi managed to carry out a baseline survey on Exploitation, Violence and Abuse among women and girls with disabilities in Malawi.

During the survey, it was found that many cases of Exploitation, Violence and Abuse experienced by women and girls with disabilities are not reported and the victims continue to suffer in silence. Over 64% of the women and 56% of girls in the survey have experienced Exploitation, Violence or Abuse in their lives. These findings help in responding to the challenges facing the women and girls, but also guide the programming.
